Weather is stormy so no walking at lunch today

The weather is stormy so I won't be doing my usual walk at lunch. Boomer! I really enjoy walking, even if it is by myself. It my thinking and distressing time...... My company has donuts ever Friday, but I have been doing good and passing them up. Also, there are cupcakes left over and I'm staying away from them. I just hope nobody puts one on my desk and then they start to smell good.

Tonight, I have to do grocery shopping after work, hopefully I won't be too tired to do my elliptical. Walking alone is not enough for me. It works for some people, but I have to have a harder workout. I figure walking is a fun time for me and a little extra to help.

Last night I wasn't feeling too well. My body was ache all over and I had a terrible headache so I did not do the elliptical. I made a healthy supper and brought leftovers to work for lunch and it was so good.

The day started out good and then..............I cheated

My day started out good I turned down some doughnuts. (Glazed with chocolate icing, my favorite) So I was proud of myself for turning them down. Then my company put cupcakes on our desk. I sat there doing work and smelled that cupcake for about 5 minutes, plus it was also close to lunch. I ended up eating it and now I feel bad about it. I used to be in weight watchers and they would tell us not to beat ourselves up over it and watch what we eat the rest of the day. So I am going to make sure I do my elliptical tonight and I just finished walking 35 minutes at my lunch time. Last night I made it to 30 minutes on the elliptical so tonight I'm going to try to bump it up higher.

I need to go back to weight watchers, but I first want to lose a little more weight. Pretty bad, when you have to lose weight, before going back to weight watchers. I was going to weight watchers meetings, before my cruise in January. I did great during the cruise, but a few weeks after that I started bad habits again. I am afraid to step on the scale. Usually, I can tell a weight gain in my pants and they are not loose right now. Tighter than I want them to be.

Today, I got a good Vegetable Quiche recipe using egg beaters. You put them in little muffin pans and you can freeze. They would make a quick and easy breakfast that is filling. I am doing a protein diet and staying away from pastas and breads.

I have a healthy meal planned tonight with lots of vegetables. Hopefully, I have the energy to exercise. Last night my legs felt like concrete. I need to get back up to an hour on it, like I did before the Holidays. We'll see how I do tonight.

Day 2

I went for a 35 minute fitness walk today, during lunch time. I jogged a few blocks, because I was late leaving on time. I can't do a whole lot of jogging, because my knees are not the best. Also, I am lucky to make it jogging one block at a time. lol I always feel so much better, when I go walking at lunch. It helps eliminate stress and the work day goes faster getting away from your desk.

Last night I made some more asparagus. My husband made a comment that he used to never like it and now he does. Maybe, it was all those extra natural spices I put on it. Speaking of spices, I planted my herb garden and most of it came back up from last year.

Today, I have a work meeting at the end of the day so I am staying late. That means I get a later start cooking supper and that is when I fall off the wagon. I already know what I am making, but I get hungry while making it so late and I want to snack on something unhealthy. I plan to eat a healthy snack today, before I leave work. Hopefully, this will help.

I plan to exercise on my elliptical tonight, while watching The Biggest Loser TV show. That show really motivates me. To see people lose that much weight is great! I have a hard time just losing 20-30 lbs and can't image 100. Those people are amazing. Just watching them workout is way harder than I workout. How do they get the energy?

Starting my healthy road to dieting

I am starting my journey to healthy living by watching what I eat. I am a Yo Yo dieter and I need to change my lifestyle by eating right. I have been dieting since I was in high school, but then it was easier to get off. The older I get the harder it is to lose weight. I know my weakness is vegetables and I plan to make more of them with natural spices and seasonings. My parents gave me some asparagus last week, that my dad grew from his garden. I tried it last year and I didn't like it. So this year I found a bottle of natural seasonings for vegetables at our local nutritional store. I know, when I cook that spices and seasoning make a difference on meats and chicken. So I thought maybe I'm just not seasoning it enough. I made the asparagus and liked it. The extra seasonings made a big difference. My family all liked it too. So I got some more from my parents and plan to make it this week. You can't beat home grown vegetables!
